Inspiration
Hello, my name is Stephanie Schuh. As I approached 50, I realized that women in my age group were made more and more invisible by society. But the more women age, the more they have to offer to help and inspire others.
Whether I am at home near Seattle or I travel abroad, I keep meeting amazing women who have fantastic stories that are kept anonymous. I’m continually inspired by their stories, the doubts, challenges and battles they overcome, their resilience, and the wisdom they carry. I am amazed by their energy, the eternal young self that still power their drive and spirits. I am humbled by the way they tackle life as their body changes. With pride and grace, they face whatever life throws at them and very often they do it with the purpose of supporting their community
They seem to say “I am ready for the World!” which is the feeling I felt after turning 50.
I also met women searching for themselves, dealing with doubt and hesitation especially as they face divorce, children leaving home, loss of career, loss of a parent, a health challenge or menopause. Often I hear “I wish I could do that” or “I am too old now”.
I want to inspire them so they can also say “I am ready for the world!”.
So I decided to interview women who inspired me and others to share their stories. Slowly, through the power of women and allies supporting other women, I started receiving messages telling me: You need to interview this other lady…
I am just getting started, and I embrace the organic growth of this journey.
So join me in discovering and celebrating Women over 40 who share their collective wisdom, their stories of resilience and re-invention. They are your next door neighbors, but underneath, they are community champions, invisible everyday heroes, powerhouses and super troopers.
Meet them, get inspired, get re-energized so you too can say “I am ready for the world”.
